Today, the women in the UN Country Team in UN Kenya bade farewell to a beloved sister & colleague, Carla Mucavi of FAO, who leaves UN Kenya after a successful tenure as head of FAO in Kenya. We discussed our role in advancing feminist and transformative leadership in the UN.

Nations are now voting to elect the Director General of UN FAO for a new term of 4 years. I ve just voted on behalf of Kenya.

Earlier today met UN FAO Director General Dr Qu Dongyu during the 43rd FAO Conference in Rome, Italy. FAO supports many projects in Kenya.

Dr. Qu Dongyu has been re-elected as the Director-General for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) for a new term that will run from 1st August, 2023, until 31st July, 2027. On behalf of Kenya, I extend heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Qu Dongyu on his re-election.
