If women (or men) have come out of an abusive or chaotic environment, a “good” mate can seem boring due to unfamiliarity. They’re used to the fight or flight responses and feel more in control with predictable situations. It’s not ideal, but this makes it sound worse than it is.

The stronger the ideology and emotional reasoning, the more likely we are to see aversion to nuance and visceral reactions, accompanied by dogmatism
