.Ipsos Scotland polling in the immediate wake of Nicola Sturgeon's resignation last year did not point to an obvious successor - Humza Yousaf was 5th in terms of who people thought would make a good FM, with Kate Forbes and John Swinney tied at the top.
The Bute House Agreement certainly didn't do anything for the Green co-leaders' popularity among the Scottish public.
Prior to May 2023, Patrick Harvie's approval ratings had been net positive since Ipsos Scotland first measured them in 2012 - peaking at +31 back in 2015.
