Back again. Being a Patron of Reading is a huge privilege, but when your school, @carclaze, has this on the doorstep, there really is icing on the top of your cake!

We are very excited to welcome Sarah Tagholm and ReadingRocks as the first stop on the We are the Wibbly Tour. What a great treat for the first day of the Summer Term!
Tired but happy. Well over a 100 parents came to the Carclaze Primary Poetry Parade yesterday. Such joy to see them wandering around outside the hall afterwards, reading the poems written by their children. (In the Parade they presented the poems by poets that had inspired their poems)
Such amazing feedback today from all the pupils and teachers from Carclaze who attended. Well done Penrice Academy Cornwall Education Learning Trust
We had such a fantastic day with our Patron of Reading today. Thank you Coral Rumble for the inspiration and guidance
We are so excited that our Patron of Reading Coral Rumble is visiting today. Coral will work with Years 3,4 and 5 and the day will end with a poetry parade for parents at 2.40! #readingforpleasure #writingforpleasure
It is #WorldPoetryDay but we should really be celebrating poetry every day in schools. There's a write-up on the Reading for Pleasure 🧶 site about how to introduce #PoemOfTheDay to a class. Once it's embedded, it basically runs itself. ourfp.org/eop/poem-of-th…
Roald Dahl HQ ✏️ Eoin Colfer You can read more about why I think having fun with writing and reading is so important for kids here - open.substack.com/pub/naomijones…
We finished by playing with words and making poems from chopped up words and on pages torn out from Matilda by Roald Dahl HQ ✏️ and Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer (I’ve never torn pages from a book before and it felt all kids of WRONG but the kids LOVED this exercise which made it ok!)
Yesterday was my final day as a #writerinresidence at Carclaze Primary working with year six and I can’t believe how fast the 12 weeks flew by. I was asked to run a creative writing for pleasure course and I’m not sure who had more fun - me or the kids!
