ROME - From May 11-16, 2023, #Caritas Internationalis held its 22nd general assembly in Rome. Mr. Anton Asfar, Secretary General of Caritas Jerusalem, participated in the assembly, which saw the formation of a new governance of Caritas Internationalis.

A meeting took place between the Secretary General of Caritas Jerusalem Mr. Anton Asfar and his counterpart in Aid to the Church Mr. Philipp Ozores. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Reinhard Backes, ACN’s Head of Middle East Section and the team of Caritas Jerusalem.

Our CEO & Director of Programmes met with our partner Caritas Jerusalem in Jerusalem today. The latest round of Israeli air strikes in Gaza have halted their vital medical & humanitarian activities -they have asked us to intercede for the safety of all affected & for peace to prevail🙏

Caritas Jerusalem welcomed Mr. Tim Livesey, CEO of Embrace the Middle East and Mr. Jamie Eyre, Director of programs and advocacy. The guests met with the new Secretary General Mr. Anton Asfar and his team and had the opportunity to exchange ideas about future collaborations.
