At the final session of the #Beckett Working Group ( #IFTR2023 ), Alice Clabaut & Matthijs Engelberts presented thought-provoking research respectively on innovative practices in German adaptations of Beckett’s drama and on the interactions between genres within Beckett’s oeuvre.

It was a privilege to attend one panel of the #Feminist Working Group at #IFTR2023 . I particularly enjoyed learning about performances of the Vagina Monologues in China from Yingjun Wei who offered provocative thoughts on the semiotics of those shows.

What a brilliant panel on sex and gender in performance at the new scholars forum of #IFTR2023 . Huayu Yang’s research on Dead Centre’s Good Sex brilliantly reflected on the precariousness of intimacy on stage.

Today at #IFTR2023 , Chengyun Zhao & Patrick Bixby presented fascinating papers to the #Beckett Working Group. Both scholars offered stimulating readings of Waiting for #Godot , the former in connection with #Taoism & the latter within the context of British #vagrancy laws.

Thanks for everyone who attended my #IFTR2023 presentation. I’m very grateful for an authentic and insightful discussion of performances of #Beckett in the French(s)-speaking areas of the world.
