Landmarks Commission approved a $250,000 Adopt-a-Landmark grant to support restoration of the south porch and steps of IIT’s S.R. Crown Hall at 3360 S. State St. in Douglas.

A DPD report presented to the Landmarks Commission today advances the designation process for the Ramova Theater at 3508-18 S. Halsted St. The report states designating the recently renovated site would aid efforts to revitalize Bridgeport's historic Halsted commercial corridor.

Hyde Park Union Church, at 5600 S. Woodlawn Ave., received a final recommendation from the Landmarks Commission. Funded in part by John D. Rockefeller, the 1906 building exemplifies the Richardsonian Romanesque style, and a 1926 addition incorporates Classical Revival elements.
