The faculty aren’t the problem. Faculty have huge incentive to publish and teach. There’s nothing for indoctrination.

Those who cannot publish and teach move on — often to administration. There, the incentives are to adhere the the most novel orthodoxy.

Dear economics community, isn’t it better if we work on social justice as opposed to other humanities? Given these reaction - which I’ve also done in the past - should we be surprised about the status of our campuses?

Perhaps I should know better not to provoke people on Twitter so I have to have discussions with them!! :-) In any case, a big chunk of our society these days cares about the issue I agree that most often the solutions they come up with are problematic but the problems are real.
