When I got sick of being required to change the learning target and success criteria every day (because how does that make sense for kids in being able to see purpose and growth?), I started making posters of my learning progressions and putting them on my wall instead.

Our pursuit into becoming a sustainable PLC in a little over a year has been monumental. It showcases our commitment to improving student learning through collaborative, focused efforts and indicates positive trends toward sustained improvement and achievement of our goals.…

The most significant influence on learning isn't homework or class size or curriculum

Evidence says when teachers come together w/ collective beliefs & commitments around high quality learning & put them into action, that's where real gains are made.

With people, not programs.

Improvement in schools doesn't happen bc of things on the outside.

It happens when the adults inside the school commit to doing what it takes for learning to happen regardless of the influences on the outside.

Internal change leads to school wide solutions.

Blame holds us back.

We point fingers at causes outside of our control or say we can't act until this person does something.

Blame then is an admission of 1 of 2 things:
1. We don't want to make change happen
2. We don't believe we can

Blame less to change more.
