Yet another rape trial that can’t go ahead due to prosecution disclosure failures. Govt & senior judges can give all the soundbites they want about how sex prosecutions are a priority but without additional funding of police & CPS units dealing with these cases it just gets worse

The forensic regulator has informed scientists we should adhere to x, y & z at a huge cost but there are 3 failures that happen in a most big cases:

1. Poor disclosure - very rarely right first time.
2. Disclosure very late so everything done in a rush.
3. Funding issues.

Goodness me. An email from Post Office managing director Alan Cook from 2009 in response to growing concerns about the Horizon system.

One minute you’re young, the next you’re taking a phone from someone because they want to show you a video but you accidentally close the app down and say, “it’s gone, sorry, how do I get it back?”

T Singh They didn't just take the money. They inflated the PO coffers and received bonuses as a consequence. It would make the mafia proud.

Gordon Exall Excellent judgment that is robustly cynical about the market for medicolegal reports. Presumably the agency decided to take the hit in this case rather than take us all behind the curtain!

Jack Head Gordon Exall Many standard directions for SCT require originals to be brought to court. Very rarely done, but putting party on notice may be a starting point.

Do any solicitor / barrister followers know of cases involving the authenticity of documents in context of small claims track?

Struggling to find sources, given Parts 31 and 32 don’t apply to small claims (Gordon Exall )
