Unfortunately, manufacturing is not a perfect process. As such, Quality Control is very important. That's why our operators will check copies every 10 minutes in production. If we spot any issues, we can then put these right & ensure the books we send out are in tip-top shape!✅

Printing plates are large aluminium sheets that we use to transfer the data from our screens onto the paper. Plates are loaded onto digital machines where a laser leaves the impression of the image area behind ⚡Then, later on in the process, ink will be attracted to this area!

Offset printing is a technique in which the inked image is transferred ('offset') from a printing plate onto a rubber blanket and then onto a substrate below 📃 Also known as lithographic or conventional, at Clays we will use this traditional printing method for long run work 💪

Microns, also known as micrometres, are a length of measurement equal to one millionth of a meter, and this is how we measure the thickness of paper! The higher the micron value, the thicker and bulkier your paper will be! 📃
