The majestic common beech is known as the queen of British #trees . All across #EppingForest they stand ready to reveal their #spring regalia 🌳👑🌳

These thick torpedo shaped buds will soon unfurl to reveal vibrant green leaves. 🌱

Crab apple blossom is an important source of #spring nectar for pollinators.

The resulting fruits are favourites of the deer and cattle that graze the special mosaic of habitats that make up #EppingForest ’s ancient wood pasture.

In woodland glades across #EppingForest , green longhorn moths dance in shafts of spring sunshine.
Look for the iridescent glinting of metallic wings that earn them the moniker #fairy #moths .
