Just had the best 2 days XP. School talking with the year 7s all about the miners' strike in Doncaster - so impressed with how engaged and enthusiastic the students were! Thank you to Sarah Hannam for organising it, and all the XP staff for all their help.

An explosion at Oaks Colliery, Barnsley, killed 383 men and boys #OnThisDay in 1866 – the worst pit disaster in English history.
A strike 2 years earlier for safer conditions was broken by the use of scab labour and evictions. 169 unrecovered bodies remain entombed at the site
