Last month, Dr Jean Emond, Chief of Transplantation at CUIMC and a pioneer of living donor liver transplantation, visited us for a casual lunch n learn. He went through his career of innovation, and how he pioneered the process of living donors in children. It was fascinating!

Last week we had a vascular anastomosis workshop! Dr Roman Nowygrod and senior residents took our junior residents through their first anastomoses. That 6-0 sure is tricky! But our seniors helped give tips to make it look smooth as butter.

What could be better than a day in the sim lab practicing our robotic skills? Dr Dina Podolsky introduced our junior residents to the console this week. Here you see Dr Kwanza Warren, PGY1, practicing with Dr Podolsky coaching her one-on-one 🤖
