It was confirmed that the Progression Unit in Mountjoy prison is being dismantled. This is symptomatic of a wider lack rehabilitative and addiction services. Instead of investing in expanding our prison capacity we should invest in reducing recidivism rates.

Absolutely delighted to see safe access zones legislation passing the Oireachtas. We in the Green Party pushed strongly for this in coalition talks and its great to see it become a reality.

Delighted to welcome Roderic O’Gorman TD to Dublin South Central today as myself and local rep Ray Cunningham accompanied him to Ballyfermot Family Resource Centre. The Minister announced €1.5m worth of funding with a new core funding level of €160,000. Over 50 FRCs will benefit!

Still much to fight for ahead, but amazing to see some physical progress on the site after so many years of neglect and active destruction.

Last year Conor Pass went up for sale. Today it was announced it will become a national park, the 2nd such new park in twelve months. The last new park opened before then was 25 years ago! Great to see from Green Minister Malcolm Noonan. irishtimes.com/environment/20…
