Today we are doing a Lab and diagnostics ward round at Kayunga RR Hospital under the theme, ‘test before you treat’. Here we interface with patients, physicians, laboratory and radiology teams on how patients are clerked, investigations are done, and how these inform treatment.

As one of the initiatives to address the ongoing Malaria upsurge in some parts of the country, we have launched Larviciding in Namutumba district . A herbal medicine (larvicides) is applied to mosquito breeding areas like swamps and stagnant water to kill the mosquito larvae.

Today we are commemorating the World Sanitation and Hygiene week at Mbale school of Hygiene, under the theme: *Sanitation and Hygiene for all as a key to disease prevention*. This is a call to action for the public and stakeholders to prioritize disease prevention.

Our dream is to increase demand and uptake of Community Health Workers services in our communities across the whole country by strengthening preventive and primary health care. This way, we shall greatly reduce the big disease burden.

In partnership with KOFIH Uganda, we have launched the capacity building for Community Health Workers Project in Masaka and Bukomansimbi. The project is aimed at equipping VHTs with harmonized training, skilling and working tools to boost their capacity to do their community work
