Delaine Eastin was the 33rd woman to serve in the State Assembly and the 18th to chair a committee. I met her a handful of times at events and loved her tales of the old fights over classroom construction during the Wilson years.

Remembering the life of Delaine Eastin today as we mourn her loss. She was a champion for strong public education in California. I was proud to support her run for governor in 2018 because of her dedication to pro-housing policies. May her legacy live on!
