Living with dementia can be challenging due to unpredictability. It's crucial to understand that each person is unique. By aligning your expectations with your loved one's abilities & preferences, you can foster a more supportive & less frustrating environment.

As Wendy so eloquently explained ‘Refusing to legalise does not prolong life as people think…it prolongs death & often pain. In countries where it’s legal many ppl choose to live longer’ relaxed in the knowledge that they won’t be forced to suffer Dignity in Dying

A few weeks before my dear friend DrDr (😊)Wendy Mitchell died, she recorded a video explaining why she believed we should have legislation on assisted dying. Today, our publishers have given me permission to share that video for the first time.

I was in the office yesterday for the first time since my mum was in hospital, my boss asked me how she was, then my big boss came over to ask, he said if I need to stay at home then I can do and it won't cost me my job either, he said family comes first

I'm sitting with mum fighting the urge not to feed her myself as drops food off her spoon onto herself....

But I don't

She might only use one hand

She might not be feeling her best

But having doesn't mean I take away her autonomy instead I support & encourage her💜

This⬇️
Around four in 10 (41%) think not enough NHS resources are allocated to palliative care, the survey also found.

Ethnic disparity & trust issue is shocking
22% of those from ethnic minority groups said they have not heard of palliative care

Thanks for sharing Prof Katherine Sleeman

Dear Rishi Sunak,

I dare you to follow a disabled person through the PIP application, assessment, mandatory reconsideration when refused and then the appeal process and still say that the system is easily exploited.

The whole thing is brutal from the long and drawn out…

Sadly some people with conditions like ME and CFS find more barriers to receiving health care than others. Please watch Wales Live at 10.40 tonight.

I could use my lovely blue tick to go off on some thousand word diatribe about how beyond awful these low-lying scoundrels are, but instead I’ll just stick with: register to vote, make sure you have the right ID to vote, and vote.

Sometimes a familiar song will trigger sounds as well as lyrics. Loved hearing this ‘mouth’ followed by a harmonious ‘Aw’ as 3 ladies woke up to sing these apple tree songs with me today. Care staff washing up added an extra element!

I want to move towards people understanding facts before spouting rubbish. I applied for PIP for my husband with early onset Alzheimer’s and even with my professional knowledge it was a nightmare. Wanted to interview him on the phone. He didn’t know how to use a phone anymore 🤬

My husband has MND and we rely on PIP to get by-I'm scared about the changes Katy Styles

'I’m worried there could be a new process to reapply for PIP, one that’s much more onerous...I feel they are picking on disabled people, which isn’t fair Mark Styles inews.co.uk/news/husband-m…
