That said — my personal opinion?

He ran over and confronted a large group of young people because he KNEW he had a knife on him.

The kids (wrongly) assaulted him and instead of running away, he started stabbing people and now a teenager is dead.

Totally avoidable situation.

Here’s the argument that will be made at court as his defense —- Did he have the ability to retreat when he was in fear of his life?

And I agree — will be tough to get 12 people to convict him.

I’m with you but let’s play “devil’s advocate” for a second and look at the entire video: He runs out to the group first. Was he outnumbered? Did they assault him? Was he reactive? Yes.

But if he doesn’t approach them, the altercation doesn’t happen. Could that hurt his case?

This is a really fascinating case. I have thoughts on it. Curious what Defense Diaries and ProsecutorsPodcast think about this one…
