Last night, the Dovecot staff tried their hand at weaving! The Dovecot weaving team taught everyone the basics of tapestry weaving on the mini looms, including warp knotting, winding a bobbin and starting a weave.

Not bad for beginners!

Went through to Dovecot today to see the Andy Warhol Textiles exhibition which was beautifully done. By focussing on his textile designs and early pre-fame commercial work it was a refreshing insight into his artistry outside of the pop art staples we all know and love.

Following on from their recent Scottish women & lansdcape exhibitions, the amazing Dovecot have recently completed a new tapestry based on WBG's 1951 'Glacier Ice Face', weavers' skill in capturing the painting's subtleties are hopefully evident from these photos.
