To my EMS friends - It is exciting that our first NAEMSP president, Dr. Ron Stewart, was awarded the Companion of the Order of Canada. In the history of Canada, only about 500 people have ever had this honor. An amazing honor for an EMS physician!

Having spent my career researching and teaching about this, these rates of failire to use seatbelts by EMS clinicians in thr patient compartment and failure to properly restrain patients with shoulder straps are sad. If arrival at the ER door is 'Time 0' & antibiotics within 60 min has mortality and morbidity benefits, than giving them prehospital ('sub-zero') can help even more. Cefazolin is cheap and easy to carry, as well as effective for most infections and wounds. #EaglesGather23
