Intensity of monitoring seems to rise to clinical frailty scale score 4 (pre-frail)
- then peak or fall off as frailty increases

Why?
Do we need to rethink?

Most interesting part about this paper is the huge regression to the baseline in recurrent UTI trials (jamanetwork.com/journals/jamai…). Must have had >=3 scripts in last 12/12 or >=2 in last 6/12. Yet only 1/2 get a UTI in next 6/12. Makes the NI margin critical if comparing with abx

Very interesting study: Nurse 'worry' & 'pattern recognition' has a higher predictive accuracy of acute inpatient deterioration than most published EWS scoring systems. Accuracy rates were significantly higher for experienced nurses. academic.oup.com/jamiaopen/adva…
