This was an excellent way to start a chemistry lesson by the way. Hundreds of questions just like this stored within Carousel, let me know if you'd like to look around. Summer term is best time to start thinking about it!!

She is clothed with strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future.

No matter how hard it gets, we always spend the day smiling. Love you mum.

Still funding Avastin treatment, still trying to find a way.

Great post from Jo!

My takeaway: ‘Tricks’ (e.g. mnemonics) *can* help pupils to remember stuff. The problem? They tend to lack meaning! So if we want kids to remember things imbued with meaning, then we might want to think carefully about whether such tricks are appropriate ☝🏽

My son was exceptional at his football game today.

He is nearly 8 but helped his team win against the under-9s. It was such a joy to see his hard work and determination paying off!
He puts in so much effort, training and thinking about the right decisions on the pitch. Amazing!

I couldn't make so I wrote a blog on what I would have talked about.

Why don't teacher check prior knowledge more often?

This is a brilliant post on the importance of checking prior knowledge!

Love the advice at the end and the example of Mr T's questioning.

Could not agree more. Imagine taking an image in isolation, out of context, with no understanding whatsoever of how it works in practice, and attacking a school serving an area of high depravation in the north.

Have a word with yourselves 🙄 You are damaging the sector.

Super-proud of this: PE teachers are sorely lacking in materials to support the theory element of the GCSE course. Well... not anymore, because here's Carousel PE!
