Today, the General Assembly has spoken loudly and clearly, and adopted a resolution:

➡️determining that the State of Palestine is qualified for membership in the UN in accordance with article 4 of the Charter and should be admitted in the United Nations.

➡️recommending the Security

The United Nations General Assembly just voted to grant full membership to Palestine.

143 countries voted in favour. Just 9 against.

Shamefully, our Government abstained.

How can it claim to back a two-state solution, when it doesn't even vote for the steps towards it.

My position on PAs has changed. A 🧵

I have, in the past, worked with PAs in general practice. Some were very good. I’ve also taught PAs. For these, the ability and quality was much more variable.

But while initially considering PAs to work in my service, I no longer do. /1

I’d like to remind NHS England that the contract between you and NHS Trusts is not one that GPs signed. It’s a contract that you and NHS Trusts signed. It’s up to NHS England to enforce the contract. Enforcing the contract is not the responsibility of GPs, LMCs or the BMA.
