Today, Battleship New Jersey survived what may be her first earthquake while on land! The Japanese battlecruiser Amagi, approximately the same size as New Jersey, was wrecked by an earthquake in 1923 but the Black Dragon weathered hers unharmed.

Check out this before and after! Now that the dock is drained, we have begun pressure washing the mud off the hull.

Once the keel blocks were carefully placed, the dry dock could be flooded. Now, the dry dock is almost drained! We can’t wait to share what we find below the water line! #DryDockNJ

Stern has touched down on the blocks!

Divers have confirmed all blocks are in their positions, we are now starting the main drain! (Previously the water was pumped out so the ship was a couple of feet above the blocks to make sure they still lined up)

See the little red indicator? Thst was touching the water when the ship stopped yesterday. First visual sign of dropping water levels. 😀
