The King has been presented with the first banknotes featuring his portrait. He was presented with the £5, £10, £20 and £50 notes by the Governor of the Bank of England at Buckingham Palace today.

The King has recorded a video message to mark Commonwealth Day and pledged to “continue to serve you, to the best of my ability”. He also says he has been “most deeply touched by your wonderfully kind and thoughtful good wishes for my health”.
