Get in touch with your lucky side with Tyche who embodied good fortune. She doesn’t look best pleased herself but hopefully that’s all about to turn around!

🏛 Hull and East Riding Museum

For #MosaicMonday , a curious fragment in The Bardo, Tunis, photographed in 2012. An image of Minerva held up by an anguipede giant (snakes for legs). A reflection? Strange but lovely.

The central decoration of the Villa's changing room mosaic is a drinking vessel called a cantharus. The panel would probably have been made by a more skilled mosaicist and inserted once the rest of the floor was complete.

This grand #Roman tomb hails from Trinity Square, London and resides in British Museum Partially reconstructed, it commemorates Gaius Julius Alpinus Classicianus. He was procurator (finance minister) of Britannia after the revolt of the Iceni led by Queen #Boudica in AD 60-61.

#GrimesGraves new visitor centre opening, it was a bit different when I visited with Gale Sieveking in the 1970s. Descending the shaft we crawled through the galleries. The highlight of the exhibition was the clay thumbprint on the antler. Durotriges Project
