Almost all leaders will be class committed in Glasgow. With 172 fewer teachers this year and 450 over the next three years, it will be very difficult to provide the support education staff deserve.

The current generation and generations to come need investment in education. We need more teachers not 450 fewer over the next three years. We must oppose the cuts set out by Glasgow City Council

It is really important to fight for the future of our young people. Glasgow will lose 172 teachers this year and 450 over the next three years, which will have devastating long term effects on education in Glasgow. Please contact your local councillor to oppose the cuts.

Colleges are a lifeline to our communities and we can not allow the sector to be undervalued and ignored by the Scottish Government and College Employers Scotland.

The Scottish Government must intervene and Fund FE!

Where is the commitment to maintaining teacher numbers in Glasgow? 450 teacher posts being cut over the next three years should not be seen as an achievement Glasgow City Council Glasgow Green Party Glasgow SNP Glasgow Labour Group

With only the HT not class committed in Glasgow, when will teachers have the opportunity to engage in the training and sharing practice that will be required to support any change to the curriculum Glasgow City Council Glasgow Green Party Glasgow SNP Glasgow Labour Group

Learning for Sustainability is a key element of the curriculum in Glasgow schools, however with 172 less teachers next year and 450 over the next three years it will be increasingly difficult for teachers to find the time to engage with training in this important area.

Plus what is this kind of gimmick costing when councils are cutting teacher numbers significantly? There will be no hope of excellence with staffing pared to the absolute bone and huge class sizes. It’s an insult to expect teachers to produce “excellence” in these circumstances.

We also need funding for teachers. If teacher numbers are protected why are Glasgow City Council losing 172 teacher posts this year and 450 over the next three years

Schools need teachers in the 'good' or 'satisfactory' buildings to start with. Glasgow needs the 172 teachers that will be lost this year and the 450 over the next three years in order to produce quality learning and teaching in the state of the art facilities. Glasgow City Council

I'm not particularly bothered by the name, I'd rather understand what the actual purpose of it is??

We don't need another, expensive sticky plaster, we need full scale investment in teachers, resources & ⬇️ in poverty. That would be excellent in my view.

Teachers will need time and space to engage with the resources offered. If in Glasgow it is only the Ht who is not class committed, and we lose 450 posts over the next three years, there simply will not be enough staff to access the resources offered.
