The ultimate goal of analysing martian samples here on Earth will be scientifically transformative, but the road to get there is extremely complex. NASA's Mars Sample Return mission is a cornerstone of @ESA's Mars exploration programme and an important complement to our Rosalind

When you go to Mars, you will need a map. And not just any map, but the best map a rover could possibly need. 🗺️

European scientists have pieced together the most detailed geologic map of Oxia Planum – the landing site for European Space Agency's Rosalind Franklin rover on the Red Planet.

A rainbow for Mars 🌈

The Rosalind Franklin rover is getting a new instrument to maximise science on the Red Planet. Enfys, meaning rainbow in Welsh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿, is an infrared spectrometer that will identify minerals for sampling and analysis on the martian surface.

New science alert! I’ve spotted something weird in Mars' atmosphere! 🔴🛰️🔍

Turns out that ' carbon monoxide is ‘lighter’ than it should be. But why?

Could biology be to blame… or is it all a matter of chemistry? 🤔 ☀️
