Encouraged by today‘s meeting of the African Union Expanded Mechanism on Sudan🇸🇩, preceded by a productive meeting by my team with High-Level Panel. Jointly building on momentum generated at the #SudanConference with partners in the region and beyond will be key.

Last week‘s #TheBerlinMoot conference was a useful occasion to reflect on today‘s challenges for mediation efforts in Sudan, the wider Horn and the Red Sea region with experts and fellow practitioners. Thanks to Berghof Foundation for the invite.

Discussed the important dynamics in #Sudan with 🇪🇺 Foreign Ministers today in Luxemburg at the Foreign Affairs Council #FAC . After last week‘s #Sudan Conference in Paris, Europe keeps 🇸🇩 high on its agenda.

Back in Berlin, valuable to debrief with both partners from Secretariat General of Gulf Cooperation Council (@abuhamad1) and IGAD Secretariat (@MAWareSO) after the #SudanConference .

As a shared space between the Gulf and the Horn, joint efforts in the #RedSea with these regional stakeholders remains key.

Today, #TeamEurope pledged €896mio for humanitarian assistance.
