As the week draws to a close, I'd like to congratulate Sam Nutt London Office of Technology and Innovation and Jennifer Ding The Alan Turing Institute for all their work to establish and drive such interest in #LondonDataWeek . So many great conversations about using data to make a positive difference for Londoners! 👏
Yesterday we had a few amazing #LondonDataWeek events that really typified the public conversations we want to see happen about data, bringing new public voices into conversations about technology:
Last of today for me at #LondonDataWeek is Open Data Institute’s Canalside Chat, exploring how people might participate more broadly in London’s data economy and the role of art and culture.
Thank you to Open Data Institute for opening up your offices for the day and curating such an amazing day!
Loved being part of the Better Images of AI workshop yesterday on representing generative AI / LLMs (including in local public services)
Huge thank you to @[email protected] + the We and AI team, plus Science Gallery London for hosting, and @DrRESmith Yasmine Boudiaf Tamsin Nooney BBC Research & Development & Emily Rand!
Really cool pop up showing off Data in the High Street from LDNMayor Data as part of #londondataweek
All public and free, right on a high street in the heart of the city, showing how the City uses what data to any Londoner interested!
Brilliant to be part of the Royal Statistical Society Statisticians For Society workshop today at #LondonDataWeek
The programme connects small charities with free pro-bono support from expert statisticians and data scientists, and is a great example of supporting civil society to use data!
And now finishing off the day with a Nesta led participatory AI workshop!
Thank you for everyone who joined us today at the first-ever event of the first-ever #londondataweek Museum of London!
There are more events to come at londondataweek.org!
Now it is time for our panel conversation, chaired by Theo Blackwell MBE: 'Why is London's data innovation unique?'
