Crucial funding for early years providers to support disadvantaged children has fallen since 2017/18⬇️

The next government should reinstate this funding to previous levels and review the early years pupil premium to ensure disadvantaged children get the support they need.

Am all for the outrage about this potential Govt. decision

HOWEVER if arts orgs keep employing/giving roles to Oxbridge grads who studied non-creative subjects*, you can see why Govt. thoughts/decisions informing by careers data.

💬 'Degree apprenticeships are not being used as a tool for social mobility in the way they really could be.'

Degree apprenticeships can be a great vehicle for social mobility.

But the government needs to do more to open up them up to people from all backgrounds ⤵️

I think the articulation of the challenge here from Dr Alex Blower is really helpful - WP practitioners may not (don't) have all the answers to GCSE attainment raising but universities can (and as civic institutions arguably should?) play a meaningful role in this space.
