Free paper from Cambridge (doi: 10.1192/bjp.2023.91) in BJPsych. Use of cannabis, CBD, and synthetic cannabinoids in >1 in 20 13-14 yo UK teenagers. Worryingly high OR associations between cannabinoid use and adverse mental health conditions. Shout out loud and pass it on.

This is worth your precious time. Andrew Moore Emma Fisher Sebastian and I argue that than this. They deserve to be taken seriously, and we should invest in serious solutions.

Free to air today in The Journal of Pain Emma Fisher Christopher Eccleston and Sebastian Straube. We found 15 of 16 RCTs of CBD for pain found no effect at all. Another good RCT in The Lancet since reported no effects. Consumers are being conned by expensive, harmful, quack remedies.

Most (85%) meta-analyses were strongly impacted by the inclusion of these trials. These impacts included a (median) 58% increase in the pooled effect (of CBT). 9/10 reviews without meta-analyses drew positive conclusions for CBT with few commenting on their unusual effects. 3/7

People with pain often turn to anything that offers hope. Cannabidiol (CBD) is being pushed as a silver bullet. Well it ain't: it's ineffective, expensive, and possibly harmful (jpain.org/article/S1526-…).

Please spread around. If you can’t get access we can send. People with pain deserve better than unchecked false promises. Analgesic misdirection hurts individuals and hurts society
