We have been out to investigate reports of oil pollution on the River #Tyne .

This is old fuel washed into the river through surface water drains during the recent storms and wet weather.

We continue to work with local businesses to ensure fuel is well managed on sites.

We’ve been busy reconnecting Billingham Beck to its natural floodplains & restoring areas of lost wetland as part of the Tees Tidelands project

Allowing the beck to move naturally boosts biodiversity & the recent wet weather has seen water now flowing into its historic channels!
