When I first started in librarianship in 2000, the 'Girls in Love' books were probably the most popular books I had! Wonderful to see Jacqueline Wilson writing a sequel that is aimed at those girls who used to borrow those books all those years ago.

#boltoncuriosity #boltonreading we had the 1st meeting of our boys’ Excelsior Award group. There were some really keen readers catching up on the latest graphic novels & manga. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for years after studying GNs as part of my English degree!

Well done to our Junior Book Club who have started reviewing books for the Excelsior Award 🥳 An early favourite is Joe Fix It, but I have hope for Sugar Apple Fairy Tale will be a strong contender!

Wait a minute, no Heartstopper? That's the first time in months that they haven't featured in the top 10 most borrowed books 🤣. Loving the variety this month. You can definitely see the influence of Excelsior Award and the impact of pupil voice - 4 were chosen by them, not me!
