The education jurisdiction initiative is designed to support First Nations’ right to establish and control their education system and institutions, as affirmed by the UNDRIP and as recognized under S.35 of the Constitution Act, 1982. #fneajurisdiction .
Through signed education jurisdiction agreements with Canada, four BC First Nations now have recognized law-making authority for their K-12 education systems, including teacher and school certification, graduation requirements, curriculum, and course approvals. #fneajurisdiction
