After a successful winter maintenance and training period HMS MAGPIE deploys from HMNB Devonport. Now together with her embarked F-35 fighter jet, helicopters, support frigates and RFA tankers, HMS Prince of Wales is ready to take a central role in the exercise.

Ships going through demanding FOST Royal Navy training face a new world order to meet mid-21st Century challenges.

A complex real-world scenario with cyber and electronic threats replaces the existing 30-year-old back story of warring Brownia and Ginger.

Today, the 65th anniversary of FOST, marks the introduction of a new geopolitical training scenario. This accurately reflects the global threats faced and will better prepare our ships for the operational challenges of tomorrow. The battle against Ginger has finally ended!
