In which I correct the record about Wollstonecraft & the (memory-holed) first wave, and argue that, in light of the Fall, something like “feminism” is perennially needed —

i.e., a just response to women’s needs and interests vs the “feminism” and “anti-feminism” on offer today.

Dignitas Infinita pushes back against a subjectivist understanding of gender, i.e. one that reduces gender to a purely cognitive or self-perceived reality.

Last time I saw a total eclipse this little guy was on my lap too, but only one month old! (I was nursing him and got to make a 'total eclipse of the boob' joke)

Whenever I see the moon, I think of Mary, she who most perfectly reflects the uncreated light. How incredible to watch a total eclipse on the feast of the Annunciation--that moment when, at her assent, the divine and human touch, becoming one.

There are various iterations of gender theory, but they share a common denominator: the deconstruction of sexual difference as a stable, identifiable, generative reality.
