Some councils (Lambeth Council) threaten tenants with eviction/homelessness for our inability to pay extortionate heat/hot water charges for inefficient, poorly run/maintained #HeatNetworks . This has a devastating impact on our mental health. #LambethInTheHotSeat #FuelPoverty
There may be good news for us who've been suffering ludicrous charges on #HeatNetworks . Hopefully, regulation will prevent landlords & energy providers ripping us off in the future. Be interested to hear your take on this Stephen Knight. Heat Trust

Taken from another source this morning.
Written as a joke but in all honesty why aren't service charges considered in affordability checks?
There would be many disappointed applicants BUT it would highlight the reality and provide more evidence that the system sucks.

Jonathan Ashworth You say this, but elderly residents living in Sheltered Accommodation at Mackintosh Court in Lambeth - are being issued with eviction notices by Lambeth Labour council, because the residents' communal heating bills have rocketted and are unaffordable.
.Lambeth Council stop putting your social housing tenants/leaseholders in ever greater debt. #PriceCap #LambethInTheHotSeat #HeatNetworks
.Lambeth Council tenants are still being threatened with eviction because we can't pay extortionate heating/hot water charges. #HeatNetworks are not covered by the #PriceCap . Our 2024-25 charges remain well above other's kwh prices. Maria Kay We need answers. #LambethInTheHotSeat
This is a major concern. #HeatNetworks should not be an Asset Class, in the same way that Water shouldn't be. If heat networks become investment vehicles, people living in properties with #CommunalHeating will suffer greater #FuelPoverty . #RightToHeatAndEat
Went into a communal Lambeth Council facility this morning. Heating on all night, so hot I sweated. Rarely, if ever used. The Council just pass on costs to residents. Service charges up massively; invisible Labour Cllrs do nothing. OAPs pushed into poverty.
#NeverLabour 😡
More court shenanigans from #Labour 's Lambeth Council. What the council has done to the residents and buildings of #MacintoshCourt over the last 10 years is utterly shameful even by their standards.

Let's hope that Lambeth stop wasting residents money pursuing illogical court proceedings for tenants inability to pay extortionate service charges. We agree - rent and service charges should absolutely be separated. #LambethInTheHotSeat #FuelPoverty #ServiceChargeAbuse

If there's £391K going spare, it would make sense to reduce the heating/hot water service charges for the 3,500 Lambeth properties suffering from #fuelpoverty . #LambethInTheHotSeat
Hi KWAJO- Social Issues Campaigner. We love your work. Any chance we can have a convo about the predicament that many Lambeth tenants and leaseholders on heat networks are in. Your advice/support would be extremely well received by our campaign team. Please let us know how we can connect.
This shouldn't be happening. Lambeth Council should be showing compassion for tenants struggling to pay their rents/service charges, rather than evicting them. #FuelPoverty #LambethInTheHotSeat #HeatNetworks
If #HeatNetworks become lucrative for investors then it's likely that more of us living in homes with communal heating/hot water will suffer #FuelPoverty . Regulation is desperately needed.
