After taking part in the 25km London Winter Walk in January, Dave is now getting ready for the 25km Windsor Easter Walk in April - all to raise funds for First Days. Best of luck Dave, hope the mud dries out before then!

We’re seeing the evidence of this on the ground, day in, day out. Whilst the situations families find themselves in are getting so much worse, we simply cannot help everyone. It’s bleak.

We love that #worldbookday encourages children to celebrate their favourite books, but it can put pressure on parents and carers to buy/make costumes.
Recently we’ve been out on the van with some costumes and dress-up ideas and have provided costumes and books to 81 children!📚🦸‍♀️

It’s good to see that the government has seen sense and has listened to those on the front line and u-turned on their decision to cut the Household Support Fund. What happens in six months time though?

Remember when we all got behind Marcus Rashford campaigning to provide food vouchers in the holidays??!

This has been funded by local authorities from the Household Support Fund. This is being cut today.

Children will go hungry in the next school holidays due to this.

At First Days Children’s Charity we have distributed £500k+ of Household Support Fund in School Holiday Food Vouchers to children on Free School Meals.

This funding is cut in #Budget24 + children will go hungry. Families are on their knees. an insult to say that benefit increases will cover this

Today is #NationalOfferDay for secondary schools. We anticipate there'll be a huge need for support with the expense of uniform. We're here to help: our school uniform centre will be stocked with all essentials children need to help them feel confident when starting a new school
