Here’s an entire postdoc

New work by ECB economists shows that global external factors predominantly contributed to inflation dynamics from Dec. 2019 to Sept. 2023. Much smaller contributions by domestic demand. Nevertheless, the ECB hiked interest rates aggressively in an effort to slow activity.

Very worrying that this needs clarification. The allies were fighting a total war against the German state; precision bombing didn’t exist, strategic bombing in its infancy. And the incineration of German and Japanese cities is still (rightly) considered an abominable war crime.

Always brutal to look at 🇮🇹 social statistics: Decades of decline, falling wages, mass precarisation and casualisation, unemployment or lousy jobs for the young, all while the rich continued to gain. Helps to understand the political disaster.
