Astonishing. From the story it appears the security guards physically dragged a solicitor out of the court foyer after a staff member let them in through a side door, only to then be challenged by a youth offending team - and security then attacked the YOT as well!

Poring through train company accounts. Northern Rail, which has been fully govt-owned since 2020, is startling.

Opex of £928m, reported pre-tax profits £9.4m.

Is this Britain's best-named council candidate?

Paddy Power is standing for the Liberal Democrats in the Thames ward of Wokingham Borough Council, which Ed Davey's party hopes to capture on Friday.

'A safe bet' in the words of one activist.

A good thread by m'learned friend Sam Tobin on how open justice is being eroded in the major London civil courts. Can echo all of this from experience.

The Cambridge traitors of the 1930s-1950s were all fervent communists betraying their country to Soviet Russia. Why would one of those throw his lot in with the Nazis? Seems unlikely.
