These undiagnosed conditions are called syndromes without a name, or #SWAN . About 6,000 children each year are born in the UK each year with an #undiagnosed condition.

To celebrate #RareDiseaseDay 2024 and highlight all the amazing work being done by researchers and clinical staff from around the🌍 who are dedicated to helping patients, I've donned my stripy socks and they are looking dapper!

How did we lose our tail? A simple question.. but it wasn't really asked before! We discovered a plausible scenario for the genetic mechanism that led to tail loss. Amazing that such a big change may have been caused by such a small genetic event. nature.com/articles/s4158… Bo Xia
