Imagine if a government, ANY government invested so much time and effort in tackling #disability discrimination, hate crime, inaccessibility, or any of the other ways in which our daily lives are manifestly harder and more unjust...Imagine if they saw us as people not problems!

Be nice today to do anything today without bursting into tears at the sheer cruel, vindictive & sadistic unfairness of it all.
What do I say to my disabled daughter about her future? What do I say? How do I tell her the future under this government is one they don’t want her in?

Some facts about #PIP

1. It is NOT an out-of-work benefit
2. The assessment & application process is hard. It is not 'easy to claim'
3. Only 40-45% of claims are successful
4. Getting the correct reward is difficult. Challenging it can take months.

“reimbursing claimants who provide receipts for purchases of aids, appliances or services.” Only a billionaire prime minister with MPs who have endless expenses, tax dodges, subsidies could think this feasible for unemployed / low income disabled people bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

This will be hugely complicated for people who have appointees, or more broadly lack capacity re their P&A and receive PIP.

All else aside, I respect the optimism that the DWP - who currently oversee huge benefit backlogs and faulty assessments - could ever run a complex system of effectively tens of millions of receipts a year. You’d be better off hiring a monkey with a typewriter.

I LOVE this!! I absolutely ADORE it! It is everything I strive for! Build people up. Don’t destroy them! The destructive nature of humans is bewildering to me!! There’s so much beauty & joy in us. Why are we so ready to squash it in others?!

One of the autism diagnostic criteria in ICD10 that bothers me the most is 'adherence to non-functional routines'. It projects NT prejudice so clearly. Those routines absolutely have a clear purpose.
