It's clear that air pollution is bad for our health. But it's not always clear where air pollution comes from. Led by scientists at our @CenterforAstro, the TEMPO Mission tracks air pollution in near-real time to help us understand it and develop sustainable solutions.
Deforestation affects cities more than we think. Students from Collège les Colliberts witnessed how construction caused trees to disappear in their community, and with support from SSEC & U.S. Embassy France, they implemented a plan to keep their town green. ssec.si.edu/france-in-focus

The preservation and stewardship of cultural heritage is an important part of the work we do at the Smithsonian.
Recently, the Yemeni government asked our Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art to provide a temporary home to 77 Yemeni objects so they remain safe during ongoing unrest in the region.
One year ago, Russia invaded Ukraine. Our Smithsonian|CRI acted fast to bolster the rescue and preservation of cultural heritage. We were eager to apply our expertise to support immediate efforts on the ground.
