At his State of the Union speech (7th March 2024) US President Joe Biden proposed a huge increase in fuel taxes for private jets. A 2021 report found that private jets are 5 to 14 times more polluting per passenger than commercial flights and 50 times more polluting than trains.

Dandelions;
Wherever their spiked leaves grow,
Spread out across the land,
In crowned, glorious, yellow,
Floret heads.
A question oft repeated...
Wherever their seeds
Are blown and carried aloft;
'Weeds? Or flowers?

It was once believed, humanity
Could not control the wind.
When humankind first sailed,
In their thirst for knowledge,

Dreams meandering;
Streams unwinding,

The breath of pure air;
Blue skies above,

Bees and butterflies,
Seize

High trees,
Abundant,
With illuminated leaves,
Whisper in their branches;
The wind rustles them,

Untouched,
By human hand.
Sunlight breaks;

Who are the Vorte,
I hear you ask?
They are creatures,
Who fail in every task.
Ask them to speak,
They will not reply;
Ask them to listen,
They would rather die.
The Vorte are useless;
Totally lazy,
Their memories are poor,
Deliberately hazy.
They sit on their backsides,

Dark skies,
Fire against ice.
The humdrum,
And mundane,
Remain silent.
The shuffling hoards;
Stifled by the fire
At the core;
Walking head bowed,
Where the Overlords
Enslave with misplaced law.
'Why?'
The lost ones ask,
'Why must we exist,
