Fantastic news and a credit to all of us who went on strike to win it. It'll never happen but it would be nice to hear apologies from the university managers who knew their numbers were wrong but chose to grind down their staff regardless. So much unnecessary pain.

So many amazing people being justly recognised by the Royal Historical society for their scholarship🍾🍾 ! Yet the feeling's bittersweet: it was Arthur Burns who supported my own application back in the day. So here's to Arthur, and to those like him who encourage & empower!

I'll never forget traveling on the Iran-Azerbaijan border.

Iran's side has many Armenian churches; but across the river, they've all been demolished.

It wasn't enough to expel the Armenians; Azerbaijan obliterated all trace of them.

I can't imagine what's in store for Artsakh

My last academic year (Summer 22 to Fall 23) has been a year of rivers. I lived next to a river, woke up with clouds moving along its flows & ended my days hearing what it meant to people. On , I share few of those of moments 🧵

Our investigation also revealed that SEBI, the regulator now investigating the Adani group, was warned in early 2014 that the company may be involved in suspicious market activity - but after Modi was elected in May, SEBI's investigations disappeared

One day (probably post-tenure) this will all make for a great exercise for history majors: What constitutes ethical scholarship? How do (or don't) you properly engage with the historiography? How do scholarly convos evolve? Who is silenced and at what cost?
