Roedd Brynmawr Furniture Makers yn rhan o arbrawf. O’r 1920au hwyr i ddechrau’r 1930au, roedd diweithdra’n uchel yn yr ardal. Sicrhaodd busnes Brynmawr Furniture fod y dynion yn cael cyflog teg ac roedden nhw’n creu ‘dodrefn syml, solid ond deniadol.’

Brynmawr Furniture Makers was an experiment led by a group of Quakers. During the late 1920s to early 1930s, unemployment was high. The business ensured that men were paid fair wages and crafted ‘simple, solid but attractive furniture.’

#Somethingscary from Gwent Archives There are 5 large Account Books in the Newport Rugby and Athletic Club collection. The club’s invoices & receipts were pasted into 5 volumes, causing the paper to stiffen, expand & the binding to ‘explode’ resulting in an unprotected text block
