It’s fantastic news for families with children with severe learning difficulties. Today the Department for Education approved our plans for a new special school in Harrow. It will provide a significant and much needed expansion of special school places.

Brilliant news for Harrow. A new SEND school approved which will make a massive difference to our borough. A great achievement by Cllr. Paul Osborn and hiteshkkaria, working with officers, to purchase the site and obtain the funding.

In February #Harrow ’s #Conservative Council agreed a budget which put residents first. We have protected vital services and balanced the Council’s books without having to use the borough’s savings.

We are upgrading our social housing’s internet connection to be fit for the 21st century. Good quality and speedy internet connection is very important to residents’ everyday life. We’re ensuring that our poorest and most vulnerable residents are not left behind.

We are working hard to make our streets fit for the future. Installing EV charging infrastructure is vital in future proofing our neighbourhoods to make life easier for residents if they choose to switch to electric vehicles.

We are cracking down on those who blight #Harrow with fly-tipping. Last year we issued over 1,500 fines for fly-tipping. This year we have increased funding for our enforcement team by £200,000 so that they can investigate and prosecute even more fly-tippers.

Before May 2022 many complaints received by the Council were not responded to months, if at all. We set a target to respond to at least 90% of complaints within 15 days. This has been met. We are now working to improve the response rate even further.

#Harrow ’s #Conservative Council has doubled the number of #apprenticeships offered by the authority. We are working hard, in support of the government’s ambition to drive up apprenticeship numbers, to increase the employment and skills opportunities available to our young people.

We’ve permanently increased the funding for street cleaning by £270,000, which will help to keep our neighbourhoods clean. When #Labour controlled #Harrow , they only increased street cleaning funding temporarily, right before Council elections, as a cynical gimmick for votes.

10 mobile CCTV cameras have been installed at fly-tipping hotspots, a further 5 will be installed over the next few months. These cameras helped #Harrow ’s #Conservative Council to issue over 1,500 fines for fly-tipping last year.
