In a season in which we’ve been attracting players that have been the envy of most clubs in the division, in which we’ve had an AFCON winner, that it’s a Hull lad walking away with the POTY trophies - edging out another Hull lad into second - is a nice sign for local talent.

Quick word for Grant McCann here. He talked of Jacob being special at an early stage, got him a good loan move at Cheltenham, and then trusted him every step of the way. We went a long time doing an awful job of bringing through youngsters. Grant helped correct that.

We’ll be watching this video in 25 years’ time, pondering how the hell we scored so many class goals in one season.
